EVERY WEDDING IS DIFFERENT
What we always tell clients is that every wedding is unique, and that the best thing to do is to look at your schedule and identify the first and the last things that you want photographed. The hours in-between are the amount of hours that you'll need!
Example Schedule
1pm: Getting Ready Photos
2:15pm: Travel to First Look location
2:45pm: First Look & Portraits of Bride/Groom
3pm: Family & Bridal Party Group Photos
4:pm: Bridge & Groom Photos
4:30pm: Bride & Groom photos at location 2
5pm: Freshen up for ceremony
5:30pm: Ceremony
6pm: Cocktail Hour
7pm: Introductions - Dances, Dinner, Cake Cutting, Bouquet Toss-
9pm: Photographer leaves after capturing one hour of open dance floor
This schedule is pretty tight and would work best with the eight hour package. Your wedding day may be a bit more compact, or may be more spaced out.
Please let us know if you need help figuring out your wedding day schedule and which package to book!
FAQ
How do you photograph weddings?
Over the past 7+ years I've noticed that brides & grooms tend to want a mix of two styles of images. One of those styles is "Posed". You know, the typical wedding photograph. You stand here, you stand there, look at the camera and smile. This is great for some Bride/Groom photos, family photos, some portraits, and casual group shots.
The second style of image that is the natural. The genuine, organic energy of the moment. The balance between just letting a moment happen and stepping in to direct is something that I try to be very conscious of. To read a little more about that, check out the section about "our philosophy" on the home page!
Where are you based and do you travel?
New England is our home! The studio and office is in Norton, Massachusetts.
We DO travel and this amazing job has taken us all around the world from California to Rome and a few destinations in-betwen.
When will we get our photos?
Depends on the project!
Wedding photos typically take 3 to 5 weeks for editing and processing. We of course post a few sneak peeks after your wedding date though! You may also request some specific photos ASAP if for any reason you need them.
Engagement photos are typically edited closer to two weeks after the shoot.
Portraits and non-wedding work is all determined per project, as unique deadlines are common.
How many pictures will we receive?
Over the course of a wedding day we are shooting thousands of images (our cameras can shoot multiple images per second), and at the end of the night we'll walk away with 2,3, sometimes even 4,000+ files. We then take those images and cull down the best of the best to edit!
For weddings, the final number of edited photos averages around 75 per hour of coverage. So, if you have the 8 hour wedding package booked, you're likely to receive at least 600 photos. Adding a second-photographer will most likely bump that hourly number past 100! (800 final edited images from an 8 hour booking).
How many photos can we fit in our album?
Two factors will determine the answer to this- The size of the album (12x12, 8x10, 8x8, etc.) and the number of pages. Each package comes with different album options for size and # of pages.
So, to give you an example, we recommend picking about 80 images to fit into a custom designed 12x12 album with 10 spreads!
Come to think of it, there is a third factor to consider when answering this question, and that is - How large do you want the photos to look on the pages? The more photos squeezed into an album, the smaller each of the photos will be. You may add additional spreads if you can't seem to narrow down the photos!
Shoot over an email if you have any other Album questions!
How much do you require for the deposit payment?
Retainer Payments are 50% of the full package price, and are to be paid when the contract is signed. The remaining balance is due two weeks before the wedding date.
